Shoeboxes all ready for delivery.

Mrs Urquhart and Mrs Finlayson took a few pupils to the Blythswood warehouse today to drop off the shoeboxes collected by the school.  The aim this year was to make up and deliver more boxes than were donated last year.  I’m pleased to report that we managed to achieve this target.  In total we had enough in the way of donations from pupils, parents and staff to fill 30 boxes.
Over the last 2 weeks the S2 Skills classes have been working hard to help support this fantastic charity.  Not only have the pupils been hard at work, a number of our pupil support assistants have been too.

Whilst visiting Blythswood at Deephaven Industrial Estate our team of pupils and staff received a tour of  the warehouse.  It was inspiring to see all the amazing work done by the staff, many of which are volunteers, that allows such a huge logistical task to be carried out successfully.  The pupils were taken through the process of Blythswood receiving the boxes, checking them over, placing a story/Christian message in each one and then stacking them on pallets ready to be loaded onto the lorry.  Many of the shoeboxes received today will be getting transported out to Romania in the coming weeks ready to bring some joy over the Christmas period.

It is now the turn of our current first year pupils to try and beat 30 boxes donated for the 2020 appeal.
