Invergordon Academy held its annual school sports on Tuesday 11th June. Pupils had been encouraged to enter by the PE staff beforehand. Many pupils, from every year group, participated in a wide variety of events throughout the day. The sports included track events and field events. The janitors had done a fantastic job of setting out and painting the marks for the events. The teachers from all departments were roped in to ensure that the sports day ran smoothly and events were done in the spirit of fairness. Mrs Urquhart too helped greatly in the organisation of the event. With the sun out and at times shining, both staff and pupils enjoyed the day. The ice-cream, tea, coffee , juice and biscuits were greatly appreciated by all. The teams really encouraged their fellow pupils in every sporting event. The announcement of the winning House was eagerly anticipated. Novar being the outright winners – much to the delight of Mr Steven; he wasn’t going to let go of that trophy! Well done to all who took part, and congratulations to all of winners and undoubtedly everybody will be looking forward to next year where competition will yet again decide the destiny of the Sports Trophy.
Overall, the day turned out to be a great success.
