The Springboard Future Chef competition is a four stage national competition. Stage 1 was hosted in school on the 16th of November. Participants had to produce a one course meal up to the value of £5.
Those who took part were:
Lauren Bertram, Sam Cowan, Ayden Duncan, Kiera Hogg, Kai Junor, Finn Macleod and Rhianna Newlands
It was a very tough competition with the participants producing carefully cooked and presented meals. Hand made ravioli, Teryiaki chicken and Asian sea bass were some of the dishes to be judged.
The winner was Finn Macleod in S3 who cooked crisp duck breast with plum jus and creamed potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection and the flavours were exceptional .
Kiera was a close second with this beautifully presented dish.
Finn will now go through to the local final where he will have to produce a main course and a dessert with a £7 budget.
