A Sailing Endeavour

Winners of the Ian Rob Junior Endeavour Award: (left to right) Reece Fraser S4, Finlay Clarke S2 and Connor Beattie S4.

Invergordon Boating Club offers people from all ages, on various days in the summer months, a chance to learn some sailing on the Cromarty Firth. The club is situated between Alness and Invergordon. Many students and teachers from Invergordon Academy are keen members.

Finlay Clarke S2: “…I have been sailing for four years now in dinghies. Recently Connor Beattie, Reece Fraser and I were awarded the Ian Rob Junior Endeavour Award. I really enjoy sailing and my favourite experience was sailing to Foulis for lunch and racing back. Next year I hope to travel to Shetland, Findhorn and Loch Carron for the travelling Albacore series.”

Reece Fraser and Connor Beattie, S4: “We have won the Ian Rob Junior Endeavour trophy for our commitment towards Invergordon Boating Club. So far from sailing for a year we have been asked to go to Shetland for a weekend for the Albacore National Championships.”

Well done and good luck Finlay, Reece and Connor.
