Christmas Concert 2013: The Lead Up

With a week to go before “Christmas By Candlelight” tensions are running high in the music department. Blood pressures have risen and excitement levels are through the roof. The pieces being worked on already sound great and by the time the concert comes around they will most certainly sound incredible, as always. Miss R and Mr S have arranged some fantastic pieces for the choir, the orchestra and the Senior Vocal Group. There are some amazing suspensions, descants and harmonies in store as well as some beautiful original melodies and some wonderful choreography.

The amount of musical talent coming through from all the pupils involved this year is outstanding and it will shine through at the concert. However, this level of talent has only occurred through hours of hard work and intense rehearsals. A hearty well done should be awarded to every pupil involved as they have been working extremely hard already and are still keen to keep giving more time and effort in order to create a marvellous concert. A hearty thank you should also be said to the music tutors who play a key role in the smooth running of the music department.

Expectations are high for the concert, as always, and I’m sure the audience will not be disappointed. Join us on Wednesday 11th December at 7.30 pm for a fantastic night of outstanding musical entertainment at a cheap price. Tickets are £2 for an adult, £1 for a concession. Get your tickets soon before they are all gone! All we can do now is wait until Wednesday and hope that Rachel Goodwin sings a bit sharper than she normally does on the night.
