Today our S1-S3 pupils were given an educational talk from the Fire & Rescue Service to help reduce the number of non-essential callouts they have been receiving in the community of late. Pupils were educated on the impact of setting fire alarms off, fire raising and hoax calls on everyone in the community and encouraged to take responsibility for ensuring they stop individuals from committing these acts. Dean, a former pupil at Invergordon Academy, explained the knock-on effect non-essential call outs have on the Fire Services ability to attend serious incidents, as well as on the firefighter’s own jobs when they are called from their own day jobs to attend these incidents. Thank you to Dean and the team for taking the time to speak with our pupils and help make the community a safer place.
