Online Gaming Info Session For Parents/Families

Tonight (16.02.22), from 6pm until 7pm, we will be running part 2 of our internet safety info sessions, with the focus this time on online gaming.

This session will look specifically at the world of Online Gaming and how this is now directly related to the wider online safety agenda. This session will explore some of the most commonly played games to identify some of the themes and challenges that these games present. There will also be a look at how many young people are struggling to avoid the temptation to spend large sums of money in order to ‘succeed’ in these games (Loot Boxes, Skins etc..) as well as looking at resources to keep children safe when playing games that involve chatting to others online. Once again, Robert Quigley, Online Safety Officer for Highland Council, will lead this session and will be on call to answer any questions you might have.
