This is a new award sponsored by Global Energy and Highland Council to recognise the achievements of young people in Ross, Cromarty and Skye. There are 4 categories
- Achievement in the arts
- Achievement in sports
- Helping others
- Speaking out for young people
At the awards ceremony in Strathpeffer Pavilion on 31 March 7 of Invergordon Academy’s pupils were recognised for their hard work and contribution to the community.
Andrew Bannerman – commendation for his achievement in the arts
Tom Bannerman – commendation for his achievement in sports
Iona Mathieson – commendation for her achievement in the arts
Tammy Hudson- commendation for her achievement in the arts
Andrew Gatton – commendation for his achievement in sports
Emily Finlayson – commendation for her achievement in sports
James Goodwin – first prize for speaking out for others.
James received £500 of vouchers towards buying a new laptop.
An ex-pupil, Loran Mathieson, was also recognised for her work in the community and achievement in all the categories with the Lord’s Lieutenant’s special award

This is to be an annual award so we plan to celebrate the achievements of our young people every year.
